T.S Eliot’s masterpiece poem, The Waste Land, and Samuel Beckett’s absurdist play, Endgame were both written in the shadow of great disasters. Land has tones desolation despair humanity is shown at brink extinction. Beckett known for his association with Theatre Absurd where suffering meaninglessness life stressed on. presents disillusionment man a decayed meaningless modern world. Written after World War I, Eliot shows bleak world wasteland Europe. published fifty-five years had dubious benefit having witnessed second War. Living under post-atomic threat, vision appears conspicuously darker than Eliot’s. purpose this paper to explore dejection works; isolation man; relationships; spiritual barrenness post-war At same time, study attempts look glimpses hope redemption barren lands.
